Our Impact
In the rural town of Wray, Colorado—home to just 2,500 people—access to arts and culture has long been limited. Beyond the public school system and a handful of other outlets, opportunities to engage with the arts are few and far between. For many in our community, the nearest place to explore creative expression is over 50 miles away, making it difficult for individuals of all ages to experience the transformative power of the arts.
The Space was created to fill this gap, to be the beacon of creativity and connection in our community. We believe that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, should have the opportunity to explore their artistic potential. That’s why we are committed to offering our programs at minimal or no cost, ensuring that the arts are accessible to all.
By providing a place where people can paint, dance, create, and connect, The Space is more than just an art center—it’s a vital resource for our rural community. We are breaking down the barriers that have long kept the arts out of reach for so many, and in doing so, we’re helping to build a more vibrant, inclusive, and creative Wray.
Our impact is seen in the joyful faces of children discovering their love for painting, in the connections made during community projects, and in the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a creative community. The Space is transforming lives, one brushstroke, dance step, and song at a time, proving that even in a small town, the arts can have a big impact.
